Regardless of what time of the year or season it is, I can always count on a layering various pieces together. I know, I know what your going to say. It’s spring and I live in Dallas, Texas and it’s hot so why are you layering your clothes?! But what else do you do when this stripe number comes in from Banana Republic?

Stripes have definitely become a staple for me, I also consider a stripe piece as a neutral in my closet. It’s a neutral that you can wear through the Spring and Summer and even through Fall and Winter. I always say do you have your basics covered? Black, white, navy, and now a stripe! These are all the basics you need in your closet-It could be anything from a tee, hoodie, pant, and even a light sweater. Whether it’s vertical stripes or horizontal stripes it’s a winner in my book. Think of it as a add on rather than the main focus of your outfit. And thanks to Banana Republic for making this stripe piece one of my favorites this spring!

Disclosure: This post is sponsored by Banana Republic. Thank you for always making me feel fresh this season Banana Republic.

I’m so happy to be back in New York City for the Fall/Winter 2017 New York Fashion Week Men’s. It’s a full week of runways and presentations and tons of exciting events. New York definitely feels like a second home every time I visit. I also always forget how much colder the city is! So staying warm was key through the week. Be sure to tag along as we kick off New York Fashion Week Men’s.

The Navy Days

SHOP THE LOOK, HERE:

Blazer: Express; Shirt: Tommy Hilfiger; Jeans: Kenzo; Tie: c/o The Tie Bar; Shoes: Gucci; Pocket Square: c/o The Tie Bar; Sunglasses: Tom Ford; Watch: Apple

I wanna say about 7 months ago I was introduced to a handful of blues, shades of blue that is. As I got more familiar with these choices, and continued to add different shades of blue in my outfits. This is an updated version of a blazer-6and not your dads traditional navy blazer but a new approach to what you may see in a window or down a runway. So bacially, what I’m trying to say is that navy is something I can’t stop wearing, buying, and dreaming about! It’s just the perfect combo with everything I’ve been wearing. Even when it’s over 100 degrees during the day or at night. Navy is here to stay and I can’t to show you off.

If I told you that a two piece suit got me more excited than coffee and a good pair of shoes, would you believe me? And y’all know how much I love my coffee and shoes! I’ve been living in a two piece suit, whether it’s for work or a night out. It’s like a simple pant suit for me but a better, more comfortable, tailored version. So comfortable that you can even pair it with t-shirts, henleys, and your traditional button down shirts!

Also, I can’t believe it’s time for another New York Fashion Week Mens! Be sure to follow me on Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat for all the exclusives and behind the scenes.

It’s no surprise for me to say that a suit or blazer is what I practically live and breath in. Layering has been a great way to build my wardrobe or add key staple pieces.

Summer is finally here and it is blazing hot! I keep getting asked if it’s okay to wear a tie or if it’s okay to wear a blazer/suit. Especially during the crazy Texas heat that we have. I always say YES. Even when the weather is hot, it’s always okay to wear a suit or blazer (for fashion purposes). I’ve been mixing suit separates and blazers with jeans and light fabric trousers. Play with it, mix and match it and see how many different ways you can wear something you’ve owned in you’re closet for a long time! You can thank me later.

The Essentials

Blazer: Vince Camuto; Shirt: Scotch & Soda via Asos; Jeans: Joes; Shoes: Gucci; Sunglasses: c/o Cole Haan

If I asked you to pick out 3 essential pieces from your wardrobe, what would you pick? Or would you be able to minimize them down to 3? Well, if you can’t then don’t worry because I’m here to tell you that its all right in front of yours eyes! Ever feel like you just can’t find that piece in your closet or you find yourself texting your friend to ask them what they are wearing?!

Believe it or not, this is by far the most asked question. What are the 3 key pieces that one needs in their closet? So here’s a breakdown of your 3 essential pieces:

1.) Black blazer (make sure it’s fitted or invest in a good tailor.)

2.) White shirt, clean and fresh ( Add a simple pattern if you want to be more risky.)

3.) Dark jeans ( you should always have more dark jeans thanlight jeans in your closet.)

Always stick with these essentials and go back to your basics.

The perfect pair

SHOP THE LOOK BELOW:

Blazer: Zara; Shirt: Ralph Lauren; Jeans: J.Brand; Shoes: Zara; Tie: c/0 Bows N Ties; Tie Bar: c/o The Tie Bar; Pocket Square: c/o Bows N Tie; Sunglasses: Ray Bans; Watch: Apple Watch; Bracelets: Bought them in the Bahamas

My closet lately has been expanding into more blazers. Shocker right?! More suits, separates, and blazers. As we go into Summer, I’m leaning towards more of grey and khaki colors. Even my brown and cognac color shoes are making an appearance! I keep pairing them with grey and khaki separates. Also, I’m loving a good fit for denim and letting it reflect with these neutral shades. If you ask me, it’s just fits together like a perfect pair.

It’s day 2 of New York Fashion Week Mens, and after my first full day it’s been a fashion overload! But who doesn’t love a fashion overload? My day began with Robert Geller, General Idea, and Nautica. These were just the first set of shows for day 2.

The night began with a kick off event for men’s fashion week, which was hosted by Dockers celebrating 30 years of style. Such an iconic American brand coming together for a great celebration. I was so honored to be a part of this occasion. And I can’t thank you enough Dockers for dressing me! Be sure to be following me on Instagram @TheZebranKabani for more from NYFWM.
