Regardless of what time of the year or season it is, I can always count on a layering various pieces together. I know, I know what your going to say. It’s spring and I live in Dallas, Texas and it’s hot so why are you layering your clothes?! But what else do you do when this stripe number comes in from Banana Republic?

Stripes have definitely become a staple for me, I also consider a stripe piece as a neutral in my closet. It’s a neutral that you can wear through the Spring and Summer and even through Fall and Winter. I always say do you have your basics covered? Black, white, navy, and now a stripe! These are all the basics you need in your closet-It could be anything from a tee, hoodie, pant, and even a light sweater. Whether it’s vertical stripes or horizontal stripes it’s a winner in my book. Think of it as a add on rather than the main focus of your outfit. And thanks to Banana Republic for making this stripe piece one of my favorites this spring!

Disclosure: This post is sponsored by Banana Republic. Thank you for always making me feel fresh this season Banana Republic.

What’s your favorite stripe piece?

It’s been such a great few days in New York for Men’s Fashion Week. The past couple of days have been jam packed with shows, presentations, meetings, and playing catch up with all my favorite bloggers and friends in this crazy industry. I was super stoked about this day in particular- I got the chance to get up close and personal with all the backstage looks for the Todd Snyder Fall/ Winter 2017 fashion show. One of my favorite shows I look forward to every season!

My favorite part was getting to see the Bumble and Bumble team in action while getting all the models ready! Side note- I’m obsessing over all the new products by Bumble and Bumble! This was definitely a moment I will never forget and it gets me so excited for more opportunities like this! Thanks again Bumble and Bumble and Todd Snyder for having me! Be sure to follow along for more behind the scenes from New York Fashion Week Men’s.

New York definitely feels like a second home every time I visit. I also always forget how much colder the city is! So staying warm was key through the week. It’s pretty obvious by now that my favorite seasons are Winter and Fall. And my favorite time of the year is still going strong. Now that the holidays are over and it’s a new year, there are so many outerwear trends that are taking over the industry!
Side note: Can you believe that it’s 2017 already?! I’ve been layering up with all sorts of outerwear pieces and even bomber jackets. Especially when this bomber came in from H&M, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it! This piece will definitely be worn over and over again all season long. This might be a trend that I keep in my wardrobe for the many Fall and Winter seasons to come, thanks to H&M!

Well, as we go into day 2 of New York Fashion Week, even though it was September… it still seemed like one of the hottest weeks of New York! It almost made me think I was still in Dallas. It consisted of a full day of shows, running to the next venue, spending the evening with fall previews and lounging with fellow bloggers. Friday morning as I was headed to Lincoln Center for the next show with The Fashionably Broke, my gal pal, I was snapped by a street style photographer. If you follow me on Instgram, you saw that this photo was on Woman’s Wear Daily Street Style Looks of New York Fashion Week!!

That’s why I always say: never deny an opportunity to take a photo! Thank you Woman’s Wear Daily!

Sincerely,
