Regardless of what time of the year or season it is, I can always count on a layering various pieces together. I know, I know what your going to say. It’s spring and I live in Dallas, Texas and it’s hot so why are you layering your clothes?! But what else do you do when this stripe number comes in from Banana Republic?

Stripes have definitely become a staple for me, I also consider a stripe piece as a neutral in my closet. It’s a neutral that you can wear through the Spring and Summer and even through Fall and Winter. I always say do you have your basics covered? Black, white, navy, and now a stripe! These are all the basics you need in your closet-It could be anything from a tee, hoodie, pant, and even a light sweater. Whether it’s vertical stripes or horizontal stripes it’s a winner in my book. Think of it as a add on rather than the main focus of your outfit. And thanks to Banana Republic for making this stripe piece one of my favorites this spring!

The past couple of days have been jam packed with shows, presentations, meetings, and playing catch up with all my favorite bloggers and friends in this crazy industry. I was super stoked about this day in particular- I got the chance to get up close and personal with all the backstage looks for the Todd Snyder Fall/ Winter 2017 fashion show. One of my favorite shows I look forward to every season!

My favorite part was getting to see the Bumble and Bumble team in action while getting all the models ready! Side note- I’m obsessing over all the new products by Bumble and Bumble! This was definitely a moment I will never forget and it gets me so excited for more opportunities like this! Thanks again Bumble and Bumble and Todd Snyder for having me! It’s been a minute since I got back to my roots and back in a suit. If you couldn’t tell by now, my choice of clothing is usually a suit. It gets me so excited to put on a suit and all the pieces that go with it. It’s something I look forward to wearing from work, to weddings to parties, and even galas. It’s definitely a process to get into one and remain comfortable in one, but I sure do appreciate a nice tailored suit! From picking out the tie, to matching the pocket square, and of course matching the endless sock choices, I just can’t get enough! And don’t worry, you’ll see this combo from Bows N Ties all fall long!

If I could wear a suit every day, I definitely would. All day, everyday.

The Essentials

Blazer: Vince Camuto; Shirt: Scotch & Soda via Asos; Jeans: Joes; Shoes: Gucci; Sunglasses: c/o Cole Haan

If I asked you to pick out 3 essential pieces from your wardrobe, what would you pick? Or would you be able to minimize them down to 3? Well, if you can’t then don’t worry because I’m here to tell you that its all right in front of yours eyes! Ever feel like you just can’t find that piece in your closet or you find yourself texting your friend to ask them what they are wearing?!

Believe it or not, this is by far the most asked question. What are the 3 key pieces that one needs in their closet? So here’s a breakdown of your 3 essential pieces:

1.) Black blazer (make sure it’s fitted or invest in a good tailor.)

2.) White shirt, clean and fresh ( Add a simple pattern if you want to be more risky.)

3.) Dark jeans ( you should always have more dark jeans thanlight jeans in your closet.)

Always stick with these essentials and go back to your basics.

Lately, I’ve been all about casual dress downs and comfort. Comfort is slowly beginning to take over my wardrobe and style choices. I’m more excited these days to start getting dressed from the bottom up than top to bottom. Starting with shoes that is! Does it get any better than a wing tip and thick comfort sole? I have been wearing these a lot and pairing them with suits, trousers, jeans and even shorts. I also will be throwing these babies into my fall wardrobe!

What are your favorite shoes right now?
