I wanna say about 7 months ago I was introduced to a handful of blues, shades of blue that is. As I got more familiar with these choices, and continued to add different shades of blue in my outfits. This is an updated version of a blazer-6and not your dads traditional navy blazer but a new approach to what you may see in a window or down a runway. So bacially, what I’m trying to say is that navy is something I can’t stop wearing, buying, and dreaming about! It’s just the perfect combo with everything I’ve been wearing. Even when it’s over 100 degrees during the day or at night. Navy is here to stay and I can’t to show you off.

What’s your favorite navy piece?

The Separates

SHOP THE LOOK, BELOW:

Jacket: c/o H&M; Trousers: c/o H&M; Shirt: Perry Ellis (old); Sneakers: Adidas Stan Smith; Watch: Apple; Sunglasses: Tom Ford

If I told you that a two piece suit got me more excited than coffee and a good pair of shoes, would you believe me? And y’all know how much I love my coffee and shoes! I’ve been living in a two piece suit, whether it’s for work or a night out. It’s like a simple pant suit for me but a better, more comfortable, tailored version. So comfortable that you can even pair it with t-shirts, henleys, and your traditional button down shirts!

Also, I can’t believe it’s time for another New York Fashion Week Mens! Be sure to follow me on Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat for all the exclusives and behind the scenes.

It’s no surprise for me to say that a suit or blazer is what I practically live and breath in. Layering has been a great way to build my wardrobe or add key staple pieces.

Summer is finally here and it is blazing hot! I keep getting asked if it’s okay to wear a tie or if it’s okay to wear a blazer/suit. Especially during the crazy Texas heat that we have. I always say YES. Even when the weather is hot, it’s always okay to wear a suit or blazer (for fashion purposes). I’ve been mixing suit separates and blazers with jeans and light fabric trousers. Play with it, mix and match it and see how many different ways you can wear something you’ve owned in you’re closet for a long time! You can thank me later.

The Essentials

Blazer: Vince Camuto; Shirt: Scotch & Soda via Asos; Jeans: Joes; Shoes: Gucci; Sunglasses: c/o Cole Haan

If I asked you to pick out 3 essential pieces from your wardrobe, what would you pick? Or would you be able to minimize them down to 3? Well, if you can’t then don’t worry because I’m here to tell you that its all right in front of yours eyes! Ever feel like you just can’t find that piece in your closet or you find yourself texting your friend to ask them what they are wearing?!

Believe it or not, this is by far the most asked question. What are the 3 key pieces that one needs in their closet? So here’s a breakdown of your 3 essential pieces:

1.) Black blazer (make sure it’s fitted or invest in a good tailor.)

2.) White shirt, clean and fresh ( Add a simple pattern if you want to be more risky.)

3.) Dark jeans ( you should always have more dark jeans thanlight jeans in your closet.)

Always stick with these essentials and go back to your basics.

Black, check. Navy, check.

So what’s next you ask? Lately I’ve found that I keep gravitating towards anything gray. I mean anything grey…like 50 shades of grey? (Kidding!) I’ve found myself waking up running over to my closet and matching everything around this blazer in particular. It’s perfect for work, dinner with you’re significant other, church, and even happy hour. You can add this blazer or any staple grey piece in your wardrobe as a key piece for Spring and all through the Summer. I know I will also be paring it a lot with black next Fall and Winter.

Well, it’s happening. Leaves are beginning to fall and Starbucks has yet again, already debuted pumpkin spice lattes. Looks like we are making big moves. I always look forward to this time of year when the seasons change, especially in Dallas, Texas.

I’ve been trying to give my summer whites and tees one last hoorah before it is time for us to depart. The white jeans may be in my pile of jeans to wear, but they have slowly made their way to the bottom. Summer days are becoming shorter but there is No time to waste! The next couple of days are filled with packing and gearing up for another FASHION WEEK season. Who’s ready? I know I am.

So long summer, you were so good to me.

Stay kind to one another. Sincerely, StyldbyZ.

Lately, I’ve been all about casual dress downs and comfort. Comfort is slowly beginning to take over my wardrobe and style choices. I’m more excited these days to start getting dressed from the bottom up than top to bottom. Starting with shoes that is! Does it get any better than a wing tip and thick comfort sole? I have been wearing these a lot and pairing them with suits, trousers, jeans and even shorts. I also will be throwing these babies into my fall wardrobe!

What are your favorite shoes right now?

Sunnies all Around

Jacket: Zara, old; Trousers: Perry Ellis; Turtleneck: Topman; Sunglasses: c/o Iristocracy: Ted Baker; Shoes: Asos, old; Pocket Square: Lanvin via Mr. Porter; Bag: Zara; Cuff: Cartier; Watch: Burberry

Lately I’ve been observing different types of glasses. Sunglasses, eye glasses and even glasses to match my home. (Secretly I’m an interior decorator) Sunglasses add the perfect touch to complete your look. It’s the last piece I put on my face before I leave to go anywhere! I was recently introduced to Iristocracy. The eye gods definitely shined down on me and blessed me with Iristocracy. They specialize in sunglasses, prescription eye wear, and accessories! Now going in to later spring evenings you’ll need a sunny or two.

Iristocracy has thousands of eye wear for men and women. They carry brands like Phillip Lim, Ray Ban, Celine, and Ted Baker- just to name a few that I like! It’s definitely a winner for everyone! My favorite feature on Iristocracy is the “try them on” at home with their Virtual Try-On feature! “You don’t even have to leave your house!” Now who doesn’t love that?!

Fashion X Dallas: Project Runway

Fashion X Dallas was finally ready to be shown at F.I.G. It’s like a revamped Fashion Week or may I say “Dallas Fashion Week.” It was an anticipated event for all of Dallas’ fashion lovers, myself included!

IMG_0853-1.JPG

Saturday night was the last day of three jammed pack days for the Fashion Industry Gallery. In my books FIG never disappoints and it definitely did not disappoint this time around either. Designers have models strut their collections down the runway. Bloggers, stylists, and local designers were all there to witness this phenomenal event. All the designers who showed their collections are all well known in the fashion industry. They were designers from Lifetimes television show Project Runway. All my favorites showed their collections including Mychael Knight, Michelle Lesniak, Melissa Fleis, Laura Kathleen, Korto Momolu, Jeffery Sebelia, Daniel Esquivel, and Anthony Ryan Auld.

Fashion X Dallas was founded by Matt Swinney. Bravo Mr. Swinney! (Slow claps) Three back to back nights full of fashion is not easy to put on. Thank you for bringing it to Dallas and thank you to the F.I.G team for having me there!

Can’t wait to see what Fashion X Dallas brings next year to the big D! Visit http://www.FashionXDallas.com for information. Here are some highlights from the finale.
